One of “Those” Days

I am writing this right now having one of those days. You know the ones where you just feel like crap and you don’t know why. You are tired, irritable and just want to be in a duvet roll eating ice cream.

Why do these days happen? I ate, slept and exercised yesterday so why do I feel blahhhh? Often I put it down to hormones which may I say are a bitch ! Screw you mother nature. However, more than often these days come out of the blue for no reason.

When I have one of those days it is really hard to get through the day. I have found a few tricks that help me get through the day so I thought I would share them with you;

Don’t sit in a duvet roll and eat ice cream all day – maybe an hour is OK

Get out of the house even if it is just popping to the shop or going for a drive

Tell someone how you feel so you don’t feel alone

Hug someone – physical contact helps

If you are alone spend time with an animal. They have a 6th sense I swear! On my down days my puppy doesn’t leave my side

Drink water

Fill your body with food you enjoy and is colourful

These are just some of the things that get me through one of those days – if you have any other coping mechanisms leave a comment below I’d love to hear them.

Finally remember it is just one day and tomorrow will be different. When you get into bed at the end of one of those days pat yourself on the back you survived.

It is safe to say I learnt how to do life the hard way and I am still learning. I intend to share my experiences to hopefully help break the stigma surrounding mental health and help someone who feels alone.
